Blepharoplasty

Severe eyelid swelling in thyroid eye disease may leave the eyelids with a very «baggy» appearance and with excess skin. Blepharoplasty involves the removal of excess skin and fat from the lids. This may improve the appearance of the lids but cannot restore normality. Unless you have been told otherwise please do not use aspirin or any aspirin containing medications for at least 3 weeks prior to the surgery. This may include a number of arthritis medications. If in doubt please ask your GP or your surgeon.
